Support our Vets
The organizations the Post 7706 supports include:
|Transitional Living Services helps returning veterans return to normal life style.
TLS Veterans (legally known as Transitional Living Services) was founded in 1996 by Alan Belcher, a Vietnam combat veteran and licensed counselor. Since 2001 TLS Veterans has owned and operated New Horizons, a transitional living program in Hebron, Illinois, for 20 homeless veterans who want a chance to rebuild their lives. Veterans from WWII, the Korean War, the Vietnam War, Operation Desert Storm and OEF/OIF have successfully participated in our services and have found employment, reconnected with their communities and rejoined their families.

The Campus includes the St. Leo Residence, the Pope John Paul II Residence for Disabled Persons, the Auburn Gresham Community-Based Outpatient Clinic run by the Department of Veterans Affairs, and a resource center for job placement and benefits screening. The St. Leo Veterans Garden, containing five distinct areas honoring each branch of the U.S. Armed Forces: Army, Marines, Air Force, Coast Guard, and Navy, offers a place of beauty and reflection for the residents of St. Leo and the surrounding neighborhood.
|The mission of Wreaths Across America is to Remember, Honor and Teach lasts all year long, far beyond the single day in December when we coordinate wreath-laying ceremonies. All throughout the year, Wreaths Across America works in a number of ways to show our veterans and their families that we will not forget—we will never forget.|
|The VFW National Home for Children was founded in 1925 in Eaton Rapids, Michigan as a place where families left behind by war could remain together, keeping the family circle intact even when their serviceman didn't come home.
Today's military and veteran families face different challenges -- reintegration, post-traumatic stress, high unemployment and rehabilitation from battlefield injuries, among others -- and the National Home has evolved over our decades-long history to meet those changing needs.
In addition, we understand that the impacts of war can be generational. The National Home is here to help veteran connected families as well who are directly related to a VFW or Auxiliary member or are eligible to become one.
